Say “Cheese”

I hear it often. Parents telling their kids to say “cheese” for the photographer but I think its probably the number one way to get those “fake” smiles I really try to get away from. And I think its just habits of the past as I remember quite clearly as a child having our school photographer say that year after year.

During my sessions I really want those “natural” smiles and they really come from having a GOOD time and just allowing everyone to be themselves.  I try to instill that as much as I can during my sessions by encouraging families to walk and laugh together, by singing favourite songs, by “goofing around a bit” and by all means necessary really (I can really make a fool of myself in order to get the kids to loosen up and start having fun).

And many families may have seen my “Froggie” in the studio or my “tickler” (which is a favourite, a removable and washable duster with an extendable arm, its perfect- I have several) which I get out when needed.

Some lets have some fun, create some memories and document THIS time in your life, whatever that may be!
