Why to consider Tiffany Paradis Photography for your photography needs?

In general, I have a ton of experience with photography. While I’ve been a portrait photographer for 6 years, I’ve been a very avid photographer close to 30 years and have a lot of hands on experience under my belt. I know my gear extremely well, I can photograph almost anything and I think I have a very creative eye when it comes to creating art and photographs. In all of my sessions, I ask my clients what they are looking for and how I can best bring their visions to life. We work as a team to discuss your ideas, and my input on what works best and create something together.

But let’s break down each kind of session type.

Newborn photography

If I can be honest, this is the session type that takes the most thought and consideration. I mean we are talking about the tiniest of humans and the most important thing in your life right now. This is not the time to hire a “budget” photographer, because you need to hire someone who is experienced and not with photography in general, but with handling your baby. You also want to hire someone that takes posing and safety very seriously. I’ve been doing newborn photography almost as long as regular portraits, but I have done many training courses both online and in person to ensure that I am handling babies safely and moving them into positions that are comfortable for them. My babies are fully supported at all times, which means at no point am I letting go of a baby unless their bodies and heads are fully supported so that should a baby startle, they are completely safe. Some poses do require babies to be in less supported positions and for these, I combine two images together to create one so that in each pose baby is supported in a different area and them I composite them together in post processing. I also purchase safe and quality props to ensure they are sturdy enough and safe enough for the weight of babies. I ensure that all materials are properly sanitized and washed in baby friendly products. I have chosen to continue masking for my newborn sessions because I am very close to them during a good portion of the session and want to ensure they are in a safe and germ free environment. As mentioned I have a creative eye to create beautiful images highlighting your beautiful baby. Layers of textures and colours, materials and accessories are used to create beautiful images.

Cake Smash Photography

I definitely recommend looking at any potential photographers portfolios to see if they offer the kind of session, sets and details that you are looking for. I create beautiful sets for my clients that can be as simple or as elaborate as you are looking for. All of my sets are completely unique and never offer the exact same session to another family. I want the set to be completely for you and your little one. I style my sets in a variety of ways that are beautiful, balances and go together with the other items you are bringing for the session (cake and outfit). I love bright and colourful and full sets and always love to add beautiful twinkly lights to bring your set to life and make it just a little more magical. I am also very good with children and babies. I am an early childhood educator and worked in daycare settings for almost 20 years before switching careers and spent a good portion of that time working with infants. Coming into the studio can be strange for them. A new space, a big light and a new person. It can be overwhelming for them (not to mention balloons, and cakes and splashing) but I make it my job to play with them and make them comfortable and work through the session at their pace. Some babies may take a little longer while others may be ready and set to go. You’ll often find me singing, playing games, bringing toys and squeakers to my session, but my secret weapon is my “tickler”. Almost every baby loves it and really gets them in a playful and happy mood so that we can capture those true little characters and all the little things that make them, them!

Children and Families

As mentioned before, I am an early childhood educator and have worked with kids for almost 30 years. I understand development and can meet the children at their level. And I just understand kids. In a very short time, most kids feel very comfortable with me, I mean I am really just a big kid at heart. I want my sessions to be FUN and for the kids and families just to be themselves. I know how to make kids laugh, most kids are able and want to follow my simple directions. I can help a shy child come out of their shell, an upset child feel happier, and help a child who “just doesn’t want to be here” want to join in the fun. While I love beautifully posed images, and I do aim to include those in my sessions, I love to include “action” in to my sessions. By having little jobs to do, my clients can focus on the task at hand and not really worry about posing or feeling like that have to do something a certain way. They can just do it, in their own way. I also want to capture authentic moments and moments and bonds between members so will take time to have little fun moments together to capture the true love in your family. I also love beautiful landscapes so I find beautiful little spots, with amazing lighting to create your portraits so both the location and your family can shine. Most of my clients return year after year, because I am able to create an enjoyable experience and capture true and beautiful images of your family in a relaxed and stress free session.
